BBC article about the Sunday Times headline — End of free lateral flow tests and other newspapers — stop mass jabs created a shuffle in the UK. In the UK newspapers, front pages published that coronavirus will be a permanent feature in people’s lives and the country is planning according to it.

BBC wrote that the lateral flow tests would be available to only high-risk conditions. For instance, care homes and intensive care units are the only ones to access the free lateral flow tests.

We don’ think that we can continue to offer free lateral flow tests to everybody in future, a senior Whitehall spokesperson said, BBC reported.

On the other side, the UK Education secretary said that the UK and the rest of the world should move to endemic coronavirus. By moving from the pandemic, we can cut the isolation period from 10 to 5 days.

It will help the country to ease workforce shortages and help industries handle their functions easily. He further added that if the government plans to stop free lateral flow tests, the number of infections will be fewer in the country. As for charging, the LFTs would affect the number of people who use lateral flow tests to identify their symptoms.

He said the people across the UK and the rest of the world would need to learn to live with Covid for the rest of their lives.

Further, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the gamble of denying restrictions and rules now in the country would give its results in a few weeks. As the PM refused to rule any new restrictions and rules over the Christmas and New Year festive period. Yesterday, the UK reported more than 1, 40,000 cases of coronavirus, lab data says.

The death count reached more than 150, 000, as 97 people died within 28 days in the UK.

The Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi said that the scientists in the UK are working to see if people can stay isolated for 5 days instead of 7 days in the UK. Earlier the self-isolation period was 10 days and then it was reduced to 7 days.

By reducing it to 5 days, the pressure on educational institutes, the NHS and Hospitals would be decreased. This would reduce the pressure of lack of staff and critical workforces in the country.

Cabinet minister Rishi Sunak also supported the idea of cutting the isolation period to 5 days in the UK.

BBC further reported that reducing the free offering of lateral flow tests to everyone would change the coronavirus statistics in the UK. In addition, it means that ending the mass vaccination and giving vaccines to only critical cases or vulnerable people with specific Covid strains. For more information visit UKSLP .
